“We all have an old knot in the heart we wish to untie.”
― Michael Ondaatje, The Cat's Table
Thoughts dangling,
like laces on a line,
waving in the wind.
Colors brushing,
like wind on the water,
painting the world inside.
Fears breaking,
like hearts given away,
shattering among the waves.
A life, incomplete and lost,
untied.
What comes untied, need not remain so.
ReplyDeleteTrue. And when things come untied it can get very messy but also very interesting.
DeleteAmen, Mark! There's always time to tie it up and make it complete!
ReplyDeleteThat Mark! He sees the good everywhere.
DeleteHey Gracie: beautiful painting, and I enjoyed your poem as well. Talk to you soon, matt
ReplyDeleteYay! Matt! I must say, that is one of my own very favorite paintings. The poem? God only knows and she is not telling me (yet).
DeleteI like your poem and your painting very much.
ReplyDeleteXXOO lsbffl
Really? I loved that you looked at them!
DeleteI love the idea of "Thoughts dangling like laces on a vine." I definitely get that.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous imagery in words and paint strokes. The two together are very striking and evocative. Nicely done.
