Invisible
So Invisible
Blending into shadows
melting into darkness
a fragment of a photo,
missing in the frame
met with blank faces
no thingness
hands reach through
talk around, above,
not to
always invisible
until seen
until able to see
So invisible you might even forget yourself
Very poignant and powerful...struck a chord with me.
ReplyDeleteIt's the fragment of a photo that gets me....
DeleteAs I was reading this and looking at your art it struck me there might be some parallel maybe.. to people who fall thru the cracks in society? Anyway that's how this poem felt in my heart. Just lovely.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Jen. I am taken with how many people feel invisible.
DeleteI have frequently felt invisible. Beautifully written.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Judy. It's a vulnerable place to be, for sure.
DeleteYou're not invisible to me...
ReplyDeleteXO, big bro :)
DeleteI like the combination of your poem and your painting. Great post.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Tim - feels a little scary to put that stuff out there. It's easier to pretend that all the world is wonderful.
DeleteGorgeously done, Gracie. And reminds a little of a poem I read in a years-ago issue of The Sun. I will have to dig it out and send it to you; I think you'd appreciate it. As a fellow Sun subscriber, maybe you already have. ;)
